Our mission in action

Writing instruction should be available to every student.

Founded in Seattle in 2023, How2write Education is a student-led, volunteer-powered nonprofit that helps young people develop the confidence to think independently and communicate clearly.

Our free programs bring together students from multiple countries and give young writers structured instruction, thoughtful mentorship, and room to discover their own voices.

Student experience

Confidence that continues beyond the workshop

“Two years ago, Vera helped me with my writing skills. I really enjoy her teaching style. I learned so much about writing essays and papers of all types. I have written so many high-scoring essays at school after Vera gave me helpful advice. I would not have improved this much if it weren’t for Vera, with her awesome teaching skills, helpful tips, and ideas!” — Gracie Wang, student
